Participants: Colonel Nelson Miles and a detachment of his 5th Infantry against a camp of Bannocks on their way to Canada

Lt. William Clark drove a small band of Bannocks north into Montana after a battle at Index Peak, WY.  Miles, heading up the Clark's Fork River surprised the camp.  11 Bannocks and 1 soldier was killed.
