Participants: Civilians and soldiers from three wagon trains made up of about 200 wagons against some Lakota Indians
The wagons were en route from Fort Reno to Fort Phil Kearny when some Indians tried to run off their mules. Six men got caught out in the open and had to shoot their horses to make a barricade and after 4 hours of fighting they tried to make a run for another corral. 1 civilian and 2 Indians were killed.
