Participants: General Thomas H Ruger with troops from Forts Custer and McKinney against Crow Indians who were on a horse stealing raid among the Piegans. 

Sword Bearer had a vision of troops falling before him and inspired his followers.  When they went on a horse stealing raid Mr. Williamson the Indian Agent took a dim view of it and his police went to arrest the the raiders who shot up the agency.  The Army was called in, sending troops from Forts Custer and McKinney under the command of General Ruger.  Seven Crows and one soldier were killed.
