Fort Fizzle was a 200 foot long log and earth breastwork about four feet high constructed in July 1877 by elements of the 7th Infantry and local volunteers under the direction of Captain Charles C Rawn. It was intended to halt Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce but when they reached it on July 28, 1877, they just went around it and continued on their journey.
