Participants: Major Thomas T Thornburgh with 120 troops fought 300 Utes

The 120 troops were surrounded by the 300 Utes and the siege lasted 5 days.  It was finally broken when Col. Wesley Merritt arrived on October 5 with four companies of cavalry and five companies of infantry.  37 Indians and 13 soldiers were killed.
