Participants: Sergeant Glover with 8 soldiers and 11 scouts against 6 Lakota warriors.

The Sioux began causing trouble along the Yellowstone River.  Hunkpapas fought the Gros Ventures on February 3rd and 5th and the Lakotas attacked three hay cutters on the Powder River.  A 65-mile chase ended at Pumpkin Creek where they cornered six Indians.  One soilder and one Indian was killed.
