Participants: Lt James A Brown with 5 soldiers and 2 civilians were attacked by about 100 Sioux and Cheyenne warriors.

Wile defending the stage station the soldiers and civilians were forced to retreat.  During their retreat, the battle continued and only 2 soldiers made it to Sulphur Springs.  0 Indians, 3 soldiers and 2 civilians were killed.
